The sun shines through the needles of lush pine trees, whiffs of resin linger in the air with the salty scent of the nearby sea and its sandy shores.
It is in this idyllic setting exuding calm that our dream came true, it is here that our family wished to share the beauty of nature with the savvy traveler.
The beginnings of Lignano Pineta surrounded by sand dunes and nestled in a tangle of spiraling pine trees dates back to the 1950’s and is the fruit of the work, genius ans skills of architect Marcello d’Olivo.
Engineered around dainty lanes and shaded alleys a new seaside resort was emerging.
The first brick of our family home was laid on the fecund soil of Lignano’s early days.

WHO WE ARE
Plozzer Cicuttin family
We are seafarers, the third generation living of this stretch of sea. It is out of love for the spot, the sense of liberty it inspired and the fondness for the sea that our family decided to settle here. When deciding on the name we would give to this home, we all agreed on GLAINS. In the local MARILENGHE language, the dialect spoken in Frioul, it means SUNBEAMS. May the sun shine upon all of us and be an auspicious good omen.
The renovations we completed in 2020 were conducted keeping in mind the comfort of our guests and by doing so we created spacious rooms paying particular attention to our outdoor settings. The shades of blue and yellow we opted for throughout our home are inspired by the sea, sun and golden sand of Lignano. By deciding to go green and make sustainable choices we opted for solar panels and LED lightings. We also use and reuse, recycle and reduce without compromising on comfort. For us being Eco-friendly means using non-polluting detergents and serving you fresh products grown on our backyard for breakfast. The house is located a stone’s throw away from the beach in a quiet area of Pineta. The entrance to your premises in independent. We live on the same property and you can easily join us in case of need through the interphone. All rooms are air conditioned and can be heated separately. The breakfast room and the kitchen are designed to make use of an open space and is equipped with refrigerator, microvawe oven, toaster, kettle, coffee machine/brewer and a dish washer. You can enjoy your breakfast either in the kitchen or outdoors under the soothing pine trees.

Nestled in the breathtaking nature of this green peninsula, Lignano is located mid-way between Venice and Trieste (90km) and 50km away from the region’s capital, Udine. It faces de lagoon of Marano on the the north-east, the shores of the Tagliamento river on the west and the higher part of the Adriatic Sea on the south. We are the extreme southern town of the province and an extension of the Venician lowland and the south of Frioul.
